Tasks of the department of commercialization of scientific and innovative developments:
- Carrying out work on the legal protection of intellectual property of the university, including the preparation and registration of applications for patenting and registration of intellectual property in the Republic of Uzbekistan and abroad;
- Coordinating the implementation of research work in the prescribed manner by university professors, teaching assistants and production staff, doctoral students, students, as well as research provided by the university to customers, funded from the budget and extra-budgetary sources;
- preparation, conclusion and control over the implementation of contracts with the authors of intellectual property under the current legislation;
- together with other departments to study the possibility of transferring the rights to the intellectual property of the university, to carry out work on the transfer of rights to the intellectual property of the university;
- collection and storage of information and inclusion in the university database of information on the development of higher education institutions and the results of research activities (ITF), the implementation of measures to improve the efficiency of the use of intellectual property;
- Organization of assessment, analysis and examination of scientific-technical, scientific-methodological and innovative potential of the results of ITF and innovative projects;
- development of recommendations for the management of intellectual property, including the registration, distribution and transfer of rights based on the results of the ITF at all stages of the innovation period;
- Creation and promotion of competitive scientific and technical products, in particular, ensuring the targeted use of funds of the Innovation Fund, support for the scientific community of the university;
- consulting services on technology transfer, preparation of business plans for innovative projects, assessment of competitive advantages and risks, legal protection of ITF results, search for potential investors;
- preparation and control of agreements on research and development, contracting, international scientific and technical cooperation and other agreements concluded by the university on intellectual property;
- to identify the facts of misuse of the intellectual property of the university and make recommendations to the management on the prevention of these violations and compensation, to take the necessary measures to eliminate these violations;
- protection of intellectual property of the university, property rights, as well as property and personal non-property rights of authors;
- University staff - to provide legal advice to the authors of intellectual property in the implementation of their property and non-property rights, including the rights and privileges provided by applicable law;
- Organization of intellectual property education among university staff;
- Coordinating the activities of the university information and resource center in the field of regulatory, methodological and patent information;
- Preparation of proposals to support the draft university budget, innovative entrepreneurship and technology transfer in the departments of invention and patent licensing;
- Development of documents regulating issues related to the creation, protection and use of intellectual property of the university.
